Otter Creek Binge History

.....Photo from 1980 Binge, taken by Kramer..

The OCB started in 1978 with Mike Semeraro and few ZXZ Brothers (Shaw and Hooks), along with some other good friends, (Steve Marcal and Steve Gilbert)..wanting to take a camping trip together. They lived in Cayuga Hall, SUNY Oswego. This "camping trip" has turned into an annual event for many years now. Mike Semeraro('79), Jim Shaw ('79) and Hooks(Richard Klauber '80) were original Bingers and have attended just about every Binge there has been.

The Otter Creek is a running stream that flows from the Adirondacks down towards Lake Ontario. Up above Boonville, near Glenfield NY is where this takes place. Same time every year. What makes the trip special though, is the Otter Creek at this location.

It has a natural waterslide and is a great spot for having fun. The people that attend, ZXZ brothers and others are GREAT people. For detail directions you will have to talk to an actual Binger.

There are no facilities at the location though. No potable water, there are out-houses. People who come are experienced campers and share very well. We have this down to a science at this point. We know how to handle the rain and bring everything with us to have a good time. There is great food, music and many activities you can enjoy like kayaking, fishing and bike riding. You bring some food, beer and booze to share and a tent to sleep in.

THERE IS ...ONE...BASIC RULE........

DON'T PASS OUT AROUND THE FIRE OR YOU WILL GET CREAMED

You will have the best time of your life there.
